Where has December gone

I can't believe it's the 21st of December already!! Before we know it, we'll be doing Valentine's Day photo shoots - so contact me if you're interested!!!

This month has been crazy, and not on the photography side, more of the Christmas Celebrations! I have lost count of how many Christmas Carols, Christmas drinks, Christmas parties and catch ups with friends and family we've been too - but it's been wonderful...

But I'd just like to thank everyone for their wonderful support this year - and watch this space for 2009 - where I introduce my new and exciting ideas for the New Year.

May beautiful moments and happy memories
surround you with joy this Christmas.

Cheers
Lisa

Christmas Theme

This afternoon I had some clients postpone due to the storms coming, so I took the chance to do a Christmas themed photo shoot which was quite fun, but only lasted about 30 minutes due to the storms sneaking up on us!! How cute are my little fairy and elf? Now I just need to decide which print for the Christmas cards!

You may have seen these pettiskirts featured in the new reality show “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” on E! cable network. Or Madeline Carroll wearing a Kaiya Eve Pettiskirt at the "Resident Evil" Premiere. Bollywood Function

Tonight I had my legal firm's Personal Assistants Networking Function (this was the 5th one we have held) where we invite our client's PA's to thank them for all of their assistance throughout the year.

I worked out it was 6 months in the planning and I'm so glad that it all went pretty smoothly, without any hiccups...

Roushini from Spice Up Your Life was our brilliant Bollywood entertainer and I also acquired the services of Emily-Jade (Nova radio station DJ) as our wonderfully entertaining MC for the night.

October's Newsletter

Lisa’s Photography Newsletter No. 2 (Oct 08)

Firstly, thank you for your wonderful emails and phone calls about my photography launch. The response was overwhelming and I really appreciate your kind words and support!!

Ok, so what’s news?

Many have asked about the brag books / coffee table books - what they look like, and how much they cost...so to give you an example, please see below.

The cost - a 20 side 5x5 book bound soft cover book is $95, that’s a saving of $55!

When should I use a photographer??

There’s an endless list of reasons for when you could use a photographer – here’s a basic list to get your creative juices going ........

Christmas / Christmas Functions

Milestones – pregnancy, births, first steps (first anything), Christening, first birthday

Valentine’s Day / Engagements / Weddings

Mother’s Day / Father’s Day

Birthdays /Anniversaries

Special Events – even your Pets!

I’m also keen to try out some Commercial photography, especially Real Estate, I love taking photos of people’s houses.

When’s the best time for our photo shoot?

I like to meet my clients around 4pm at this time of year – if you have a look outside, you’ll see that the sunlight is getting softer with a gorgeous glow – all the better to shoot with!

What should I wear to my photo shoot?

Believe it or not, long sleeved black/dark shirts look best, especially if you would like black and white photos.

But wear what you feel comfortable in. Some of my suggestions are -

  • Solid, bright coloured clothing;
  • Denim jeans and white shirts;
  • If your kids love dress ups, then bring those clothes along and let them have some fun;
  • If you or your child has a hobby or interest (eg violin, guitar, books) that shows your/their personality, please feel free to bring along as well!

If you’re still not sure, bring a couple of sets of clothes to the shoot.

Yummy Mummies

I’m looking for some pregnant tummies to photograph as well, if you’re interested just let me know and I’ll do your session for free.

If you’d like to be taken off the mailing list, just let me know (I won’t be offended).

My website page is on its way – keep an eye out for it.

Thanks again

Lisa -- lisa@benclarkphotography.com.au

PS – don’t forget my Christmas special offers

Friday's Wedding

Today I had the privilege of being 2nd shooter for Trudy from Studio Con Brio. Trudy and I have known each other for years when she used to work for Ben, my husband, so it was great to hang out with Trudy and see how she was shooting weddings now.

We had such a great day with an amazing couple and an excellent bridal party!

Congratulations Michael and Jessica! Enjoy your Thailand honeymoon.
